Sunflower Dreams Delivers Emotionally Charged Dubstep Remix of Midnite Gossip’s “Streetlights”
Calgary-based cinematic alt-pop duo Midnite Gossip is excited to share “Streetlights (Sunflower Dreams Remix)”, a collaborative reimagining of their fan-favourite single. Remixed by Two-Spirit artist and producer Sunflower Dreams, the track trades lush pop textures for a euphoric, emotionally charged dancefloor banger—infused with melodic dubstep energy, crisp synths, and powerful drops.
“We’ve been fans of Sunflower Dreams’ music and style for a while,” says Midnite Gossip. “So when she reached out about remixing Streetlights, we were over the moon. She brings such a distinct sound and flavour to everything she does—we knew it would be a banger, and of course it is!”

Originally conceived as a drum and bass remix, the track evolved into a melodic dubstep piece set at 130 BPM, blending emotional catharsis with massive sound design. Drawing inspiration from artists like Illenium and Excision, Sunflower Dreams leaned into the track’s original guitar work and lyrical vulnerability to build something that’s both reflective and explosive.
“The track is about the emotional chaos you feel after a breakup,” says Sunflower Dreams. “Dubstep has always been a powerful outlet for me to release that kind of energy, and the guitar work in the original version gave me the perfect foundation to build on. I hope people can connect with the emotion behind it.”
The remix walks a fine line between raw power and emotional restraint—delivering crushing drops one moment and haunting melodic textures the next. It builds slowly, swelling with tension before erupting into cinematic bass-driven peaks, creating a visceral experience that’s both cathartic and danceable. A perfect fusion of melodic dubstep and cinematic alt-pop, it pulls listeners into a world where heartbreak hits hard and healing hits louder.
This release also marks a creative collaboration years in the making.
“I’ve wanted to work with Midnite Gossip for a long time,” says Sunflower Dreams. “Doing a remix felt like the perfect place to start.”
